French kingwood semainier drawers
A stunning French kingwood chest of seven drawers, also know as a semainier chest. Featuring gilt ormolu escutcheons and mounts, and an original marble top. Great condition, each drawer runs smoothly. Original key included.
Originally used to separate copious personal linens into Monday through to Sunday supplies. This chest could nowadays be used for a number of storage needs in any room, including the home office, dining room or to house special a collection.
Found in France and dating to around c.1890.
